I was very glad to contribute to the Migrant Women Series, as too often the Kurdish voice and contributions to feminism and a fairer society and world, are left out of mainstream feminist spaces and discussions. Thank you Bristol Women's Voice for including my voice as a Kurdish woman ❤️💛💚
🛄 In our latest article, Bristol Women's Voice discusses The Migrant Women Series which celebrates migrant women’s resilience and contributions. Marking International Migrants Day, it features talks on FGM awareness, language empowerment, domestic abuse support, and Kurdish heritage. Continuing into 2025, it amplifies migrant voices, fostering inclusion, community, and collective growth. 🔗 Read the full article at https://lnkd.in/dBZumEsi #CelebratingCulture #FamilyFun #Artists #Opportunities #Creativity #Performances #EventsAndNetworking #Bristol #Southwest #GlobalMajority

We had the privilege of attending the Press Night for The Little Mermaid at the Bristol Old Vic. This bold re-imagining of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale by Sonali Bhattacharyya and Miranda Cromwell was nothing short of breathtaking. With its inclusive approach and environmental focus, the production effortlessly celebrated cultural diversity while raising awareness about the impact of human activity and financial greed on our oceans. The story reminds us that no one is too small to make a difference. We were mesmerised by Holly Downey’s aerialist artistry, adding a spectacular visual element to the magical underwater world. We’d like to give a massive shout-out to Ruth Ramsay, the Costume Supervisor for The Little Mermaid! Ruth is one of our talented DAN artists, known for her incredible work as the Flag Up Your Identity Producer for #DIASPORA! 2024. She continues to inspire with her creativity and dedication to fostering community engagement. If you’re looking for a festive, thought-provoking show that combines magic, heart, and a timely message, we can’t recommend The Little Mermaid enough. 🎭 📅 Don’t miss out! Catch this captivating production at Bristol Old Vic this Christmas. As an Associate Company at Bristol Old Vic! This partnership enables us to further develop as an organisation, benefiting from their expertise and mentorship. If you’re a diverse theatre maker or want to explore ways to get involved with Bristol Old Vic, email us at hello@diverseartistsnetwork.com. Let’s make waves together! 🌟 Thank you to Bristol Old Vic for this unforgettable experience! #CelebratingCulture #FamilyFun #Artists #Opportunities #Creativity #Performances #EventsAndNetworking #Bristol #Southwest #GlobalMajority

The sun shone. The people came. The past 12 months delivering in-person and online meet-ups has been a lesson in trust. That providing space for transracial adoptee and fostered adults to come together and connect, is enough. The work is to remain consistent and show-up. So, I'm thrilled and thankful that DAWTA's Nature Trail facilitated by Leanne Anyinsah at Soultrail Wellbeing was such a success. 8 people came, with another 5 expressing interest. We learnt about how to treat stings (correctly), which red berries we can and can't eat (always check!!), we even hugged a few trees, lol. But most importantly, a non-pressured space was created to share lived experiences, safely. Thank you Quartet Community Foundation Nilaari Agency Black South West Network Diverse Artists Network for your support, funding coaching and mentorship, in 2024. Looking forward to continuing our journey in 2025. And thanks to the DAWTA group, that continues to grow in number.... The sun shone. You came.
