As we draw a close to this first phase of the 'This is Hospice Care' campaign, we want to take this time to reflect over the past few weeks. As we joined forces with hospices across England, Scotland and Wales it was wonderful to see the power of the hospice community united with the same message. Thank you Hospice UK for highlighting the importance of gifts in Wills to local hospices like Dove House. Together with your support, we can protect the future of hospice care. https://lnkd.in/eRaJ4jSi

Prue's husband of nearly 57 years Dennis - lay in bed, in the latter stages of his life. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer just a year ago, and with lung cancer in the autumn. He was admitted to the Hospice when it became apparent that he needed more care than could be given at home. This is Prue's story, this is hospice care 💛 #thisishospicecare #dovehousehospice

Margaret, Steve's wife shares her story about both his and hers time at Dove House Hospice 'I am so pleased that this care was offered. The peace and tranquility of the wards was just what was needed. He was treated with dignity and respect, and the staff understood his needs. When you become a carer, your needs, health and mental health go on the back burner. There are emotions and guilt that comes along with caring for your loved one. I don’t think I realised how much so until Steve was in Dove House, and I could take a small step back and breathe.'
