Supporting people who have Down's syndrome to live full and rewarding lives.
About us
Supporting people with Down's syndrome throughout their lives. Since our formation in 1970, we have developed into a highly regarded national charity with over 20,000 members and over 100 affiliated local groups across the country.. We are often the first point of contact for new parents of a baby with Down's syndrome looking for information and advice, and remain a valued source of support to families as their child grows and develops. People with Down's syndrome are entitled to high quality healthcare, good education, often in mainstream schools, to have jobs and to live fulfilling lives within their local communities. We provide information and support for people with Down's syndrome, their families and carers and the professionals who work for them. DSA Helpline: provides information about all aspects of living with Down's syndrome. Call Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm 0333 12 12 300. Workfit: a service which turns the 'supported employment' concept on its head. A tailored service training employers about the Down's syndrome learning profile. Finding the right employment opportunities, for the right people. DSActive: sports programme providing children and adults with a fair opportunity to get involved in sports, the emphasis being placed primarily on football and tennis. Email info@downs-syndrome.org.uk, call 0333 1212 300 or visit our website - www.downs-syndrome.org.uk - to find out more.

Are you the caregiver of a girl aged 10-19 with Down syndrome? Can you spare 15 minutes to help a team of researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to share your experiences preparing for and managing their periods? You can participate even if they haven’t started their periods yet. Help us learn how to improve menstrual health support for our young people. You can find out more about the research and how to take part here: https://loom.ly/b2BxMYA Survey works best on a computer. Please contact katie.greenland@lshtm.ac.uk if you have any questions or have trouble taking part.
