🧴 DHT Blockers & Hair Loss. DHT blockers like finasteride, dutasteride, and spironolactone are often used to treat androgenetic alopecia (a common form of hair thinning due to genetics, hormones, and age). By blocking DHT, an active form of testosterone, these ingredients help slow hair loss. However, while effective, oral versions of these blockers can sometimes cause side effects, including mood changes and low libido. There’s also concern about their effect on male fetal development if used during pregnancy. Topical DHT blockers, like finasteride, have shown minimal absorption and fewer side effects, making them a popular alternative for many.
