🤩 It's been a great day, welcoming high schools pupils from across Fife to our Campus Takeover in Kirkcaldy. Pupils took part in a number of exciting workshops including: 📚 The Criminal Trial 🎮 Interactive Tech 🛩️ A Day in the Life of Cabin Crew 💈 GHD Styling Hacks 💅🏻 Nail Art Design 😱 Catch a Killer Our aim was to inspire them to consider college as an option when they leave school!

John’s career journey began with an apprenticeship in the mining industry and has taken him all the way to Managing Director at FiFab, a role he’s held for over 35 years. He’s passionate about empowering young people in Fife and supporting their transition into the workforce. A career in hospitality can offer so much to young people today, and we were so excited to welcome pupils from schools across the area to the launch of the North East Coast Fife Coastal Alliance (NEFCA) with DYW Fife. A showcase for the Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism sector in the area, the exhibition in our Hall of Champions saw over 30 local businesses give 150 young people a little taste of life in the industry and the variety of skills it can help develop. One amazing example of this is our very own Max Lindsay, an S6 pupil at Madras College, who gave a brilliant talk at the morning’s business breakfast, sharing all he’s learned on his hospitality journey, which began with a five-week Career Ready placement here at Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa and continues as part our Conference and Events team. We’re excited to shine a light on ExxonMobil Fife Ethylene Plant's fantastic initiative, providing young people with hands-on barista training at Beath High School. This initiative not only equips students with a Level 5 Barista qualification but also boosts their confidence, skills, and employability in key sectors.

🌟 Launch of the NEFCA Project! 🌟 On Nov 18th, DYW Fife hosted the Northeast Fife Coastal Alliance (NEFCA) Project launch at the iconic Old Course Hotel, St Andrews. This incredible event brought together businesses, educators, and young people to spotlight exciting opportunities in the Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism (HLT) sectors. A really fantastic day at Fife College in Glenrothes as our pupils completed a number of workshops including electronics, jewellery, games design, podcasts, virtual welding and renewable energies.
