Week 3 COMPLETED ✅ Earniversity Week 3, Lesson 1: Employability! My favourite part about this session was going through the 9 important skills that employers look for. I enjoyed this part the most as, not only did it get me thinking about how to sell myself in future job interviews, but it also taught me what employers are currently looking for. It also pointed out to me that in order to be the ideal employee, I should develop as many of the 9 skills, as possible. We also went over a CV: what is required on it (qualifications, any experience, and honesty) and what isn’t a necessity ( a photo of yourself). After this, we went over interviews, this showed us how we should act, dress, and present ourselfs in an interview. I also learnt key points, such as, arriving early to interviews, and to prepare questions for the interviewer about the role, and perhaps researching the interviewer to find any common points of interest. Our challenge for this lesson was to create a CV. Week 3: lesson 2: Inperson/ online services! In this lesson, I enjoyed discussing some of the inperson/ online services that I can do at my age. Although I allready have my own, car cleaning & detaining business with my friend, I enjoyed learning more about this inperson service as well as learning about other ones, such as delivering shopping to elderly people. To end the lesson,Dene Botha walked us through creating a poster to promote our services on Canva! I found this part of the session extremely helpful, as for people who rarely use canva, such as myself, hands-on learning, was very beneficial. Our challenge was to complete the poster. I also plan to post this on our car cleaning Facebook page (@Ln Car Cleaning), and even print a few out and post them through letterboxes in my local area.

Week 2 of the Earniversity programme… Session 1- FINACES: In this lesson we learnt all about sources of income, spending and wealth tactics. I enjoyed learning about all the different ways that you can gain income, the most. I also took away an interesting fact on currency: the less money that a country has, the more valuable its currency is as there is more demand for it. For our challenge in this lesson, we had to research, what we would choose to invest £10,000 into. As shown in the photo, I chose stocks and shares due to great expected ROI over a 10 year period. However there are some risks to this choice such as unexpected declines in the stock market. Session 2- RESELLING: This lesson taught me some key facts to guide me when reselling clothes on Vinted. Although I have lots of experience doing this, the lesson gave me a few new pointers such as using relevant key words for better search visibility. We went through all the platforms that you can resell things on ranging from eBay, and Vinted, to CEX and Amazon. We listed the pros and cons to each of the sites, and the key points to them. For our challenge, we had to find an old item in our homes to resell. With permission from my dad, I chose his old coat, that he hadn’t worn in a while, and was otherwise gathering dust in the cupboard. After some research, I chose to list it on Vinted due to it being the best platform to sell second hand clothes with no fees. I also did some research into the price of the jacket, to offer a competitive, yet fair price to possible buyers. Allready, I have seen some interest shown towards the coat, and have been quick to respond to anyone interested. I’m going to try my best to sell this by next Friday!

    My MedStudent Journey 🧬👩🔬

Why I’m training like Mo Farah? 🏃♀️💨 Session 1 of the Earniversity Fastrack challenge focused on building a ‘Success Mindset’. Challenging us to really refine what ‘success’ meant to us. Wealth, Health, Happiness, or Success: what drives you as a person? Firstly I had picked wealth, not because I am a materialistic individual, rather it can alleviate a multitude of indicative problems; especially when money is the main stress factor. Then I pondered deeper: if I drive for happiness, I will not find stress as there is no reason to follow a path leading me to anxiety or pressure. Lastly I concluded, what would a wealthy, happy, and successful person want but cannot gain with those qualities. Health. Health is only gained through luck and prevention. It is indefinite. Which is why the ability to improve ones health is synonymous to my success. Dene Botha challenged us to improve ourselves 1% every day and here is my response: I bought myself a gym membership last month to force myself to be active and not a couch-potato. However, after two days I was already tired and less thrilled about concept. How I could maintain a workout routine and stay motivated? After the Tuesday Live-Stream I went to the gym and decided set myself a challenge, something unimaginable yet reasonable enough to accomplish. I will be running the London Marathon 2025! If the marathon was next month I would laugh and clap at my own delusion too. But it is in 8 months, leaving me (someone who’s heart rate only increases when watching films on the couch) enough time to form a training plan and build a routine. #MedStudentJourney #Earniversity #Alevels #SixthForm #TRC4 #FastTrackChallenge
