We're so proud to have won bronze at this years Eurobest for Airquity! Airquity, our partnership with UK-based tech start up, Earswitch, aims to be the first racially agnostic core oximeter - an innovative in-ear solution which takes readings from the ear canal, where all skin looks the same👂 Eurobest champions creative excellence, recognising ground breaking innovative thinking, and winning Bronze in the Healthcare category is a huge achievement, congratulations to everyone involved! #Eurobest #Creative #Healthcare #AwardWinning

Our Airquity session has been shortlisted for #SXSWLondon, and we need your votes! 🗳️   A global, multi awarded campaign, including a Silver Cannes Lion and a Gold Clios Health for Innovation, and a Future Impact Pencil at D&AD, Airquity, our partnership with EarSwitch, is fighting racial health inequity through tech and creativity.    Our session will feature a panel of experts in medicine, creativity, and advocacy as they unveil the journey behind the Airquity technology, discuss its potential to reshape healthcare, and explore how tech and creativity can drive racial equity in health. Together, we’ll reimagine a future where bias in medical devices becomes a thing of the past.   You’ll need to register to be able to vote, but it won’t take longer than two minutes! Vote here: https://lnkd.in/eG_8xUD6

  • Patients’ vital signs play a critical role in clinical decision-making so the accuracy and reliability of monitoring devices are non-negotiable. And yet, we continue to rely on traditional pulse oximeters to capture vital signs readings in most cases. Not only do these devices vary in their effectiveness depending on patients’ skin colour, but their overall accuracy has been challenged, with studies showing a significant margin for error. Bringing forward alternative solutions will help improve care and lead to better outcomes for patients and staff. We developed EarMetrics to help meet this need sooner rather than later, and earlier this year became one of eight technologies accepted onto the Innovative Devices Access Pathway (IDAP) Pilot Programme – to ensure patients can access groundbreaking technology as soon as it's available. • For decades, pulse oximetry has been the industry standard for monitoring blood oxygen levels – but could better alternatives soon be available? Among the most common concerns around pulse oximeters is accuracy – an issue that is amplified for patients with darker skin tones. A recent review, commissioned by the UK Government and conducted by a panel of experts put pulse oximetry, and the potential for racial bias as a result of its use, squarely in the spotlight. Among its key recommendations: encouraging efforts to develop new devices with greater accuracy and performance in monitoring for all skin types. We believe in-ear canal monitoring could hold the most potential to address these challenges; EarMetrics aims to provide accurate, consistent vital signs monitoring that could lead to more equitable healthcare outcomes. #healthcare #digitalhealth #healthmonitoring

  • High-quality, multi-biometric data holds immense potential to provide a clearer picture of health. Our in-ear technology is designed to unlock this potential, with all data securely stored and managed through EarMetrics® Cloud. EarMetrics® Cloud will ensure that data collected by our sensors is structured, reliable, and ready for use. Having this structured data easily accessible to clinicians will enable faster more informed decision-making for timely treatment and overall better patient outcomes. From tracking health trends and managing chronic conditions to enabling early interventions, the platform aims to transform raw metrics into actionable insights for smarter health decisions. By organising and safeguarding real-world multi-biometric data, our secure, clinical-grade cloud architecture enhances the understanding of health at both individual and community levels. Through our technology, we aim to expand the possibilities of precision health, responsibly shaping the future of healthcare with metrics you can trust. When something isn’t working well, let’s seek a better alternative. Healthcare is constantly evolving, and there’s always room to improve the quality of care we deliver to our patients. Take vital signs monitoring, for example. The current methods, while widely used, often fall short in accuracy and efficiency, especially for minority populations. Differences in skin tone can affect the effectiveness of these tools, leading to suboptimal care outcomes. It’s up to all of us in healthcare to actively pursue new methods and solutions that ensure everyone receives the highest standard of care, regardless of background or skin colour. #healthcare #digitalhealth #healthmonitoring

  • Vital signs monitoring shouldn’t be a complicated, intrusive, or painful process. That’s why we believe the inner ear canal may be the ideal location for capturing reliable indications of a patient's health: It’s discreet, convenient and can be used in devices like hearing aids and audio earbuds. By integrating advanced sensors into these everyday devices, we aim to enable seamless monitoring of vital signs such as oxygen levels, heart rate, and respiration patterns, prioritising both accuracy and equity. In-ear devices are not only comfortable for long-term wear, making them ideal for remote health management, but they also offer manufacturers a unique opportunity to differentiate their products by potentially adding advanced health monitoring capabilities. • EarSwitch began with a clinician's vision to change lives, and we have grown in ways we never imagined. Our founder, Dr Nick Gompertz, was inspired to help patients with motor neurone disease who struggled to communicate. He envisioned a non-intrusive, in-ear device to assist people with neurological impairments. Today, EarSwitch has expanded far beyond its original mission. Our team of doctors, scientists, and engineers is pioneering in-ear biometric control and sensor technologies to deliver powerful health insights for healthcare teams and patients alike.
