Civic and Social Organizations
Independent charity supporting vulnerable Eastern Europeans since 1984: poverty, exploitation, immigration, violence
About us
East European Resource Centre is a charity (reg. no. 1114607) that provides information, advice and support to people from Central and Eastern Europe from the 2004 and 2007 EU accession countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Our vision is of Great Britian being home to Eastern European (EE) migrants where they can make choices about their families, work and homes, and live fulfilled lives as respected members of local communities. Our mission is giving voice and resources to EE migrants who experience poverty, exploitation and social exclusion in order to help them to make choices about their lives and realize their potential as equal members of communities. What we do: 1) Frontline delivery of information, advice and advocacy for disadvantaged Eastern European migrants in need of help to navigate British systems, develop confidence and skills, and improve integration with the British society 2) Policy work through research, needs analysis and raising awareness of issues affecting integration of Eastern Europeans into the British society and their living fulfilled lives as valued residents and members of local communities 3) Awareness raising though information, outreach and campaigns on rights of Eastern Europeans in London and on challenges they face in interactions with statutory services and private markets, such as hate crime, immigration status, rented housing or employment.

Thank you The London Community Foundation and Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) for the invitation and for trusting us to deliver a second project, part of the 2nd round of the amazing Grassroots Fund.

🛂🔔 Do you support migrants and refugees? Those who don't hold EU Settled or Pre-settled Status are likely to have a physical immigration document: a Biometric Residency Permit (BRP), a wet stamp or vignette in a passport. These documents will be invalid soon - the system is becoming digital. 👉👇 Watch this video from Home Office on how to create and access a digital UKVI account. Helping people with setting up and maintaining UKVI accounts is not immigration advice - anyone can help across all support services. Be prepared to help. Watch and share the video. 💡To change the langauge of subtitles: On a mobile device, tap the video to see the controls, then tap the three vertical dots (or gear icon) in the upper-right corner. Select "Captions" or "Subtitles," then choose your preferred language from the list. If needed, you can use "Auto-translate" to pick another language. On a laptop, click the "Settings" gear icon at the bottom right of the video. Then, select "Subtitles/CC" and choose your preferred language from the list. If the language isn't listed, you can try "Auto-translate" and pick your desired language. #UKVI #eVisa #immigration https://lnkd.in/dXSCbZPe

🛂🔔 Do you have a digital immigration status, e.g. EU Settled or Pre-settled Status? Remember the basics of maintaining your online UKVI account to travel without obstructions: keep your details up to date, add additional ID document to have options on the border (remember: your last added document will be used to log in to your UKVI account), check how to view-and-prove your status online if you ever need to. 👉👇 Watch this Home Office video on the basics of trvelling with digital immigration status. Share with people you support to help them complete their travel smoothly. 💡To change the langauge of subtitles: On a mobile device, tap the video to see the controls, then tap the three vertical dots (or gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
