Yesterday I attended the GamaYo conference in Wakefield and I can honestly say I was blown away by both the venue (which was sold out) and the quality of games offering up their demos. Representing Eaton Smith Solicitors, we sponsored the Best Large Game Studio award which I am pleased to announce was won by Double Eleven whose submission and track record demonstrates that they are a serious player in the industry. Whilst it wasn't featured there, I am excited to see more of their upcoming original IP Blindfire (link below) which offers an interesting new take on the FPS genre. It was also very encouraging to see such great talent coming out of local universities with a number of students showcasing their university projects. I especially had a lot of fun playing Rebound Rivals by Small Man Studios - a game that I very much hope gets published in the near future (link below). Most importantly, I sank Chris Taylor's ship in Wyrd Waters (created by the wonderful Maximalist Ltd) - a game that I'd very much enjoy playing more of (link below). Also worth shouting at the incredibly lovely venue that is WX, and yes that is a HALO LAN party you can see in the photo...
