As we head towards the end of the year, it is good to reflect on how far Connected Competence has come this last year. 44% more tests were completed by temporary workers in 2024 compared to 2023. And we now have 10 contractors and 20 clients signed up to the Connected Competence charters - demonstrating their commitment to a safer and more transferable workforce. As we move into 2025 we expect a busy period with TARs and shutdowns. Having everyone’s technical competence verified through a recognised scheme ensures a safer workforce and peace of mind to all that everyone is working to the same standard. Regional Officer at Unite the Union, John Boland, explains how he gets members questioning the competence of people working with them. He explains how Connected Competence gives them (and those coming in) the reassurance that their skills are up to the level that’s required. Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/eX9Bj-ZG Roles covered by Connected Competence include: Pipefitters, Platers, Electrical Installation Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Technicians, Mechanical Maintenance Technicians, Thermal Insulators, Industrial Coatings (Painters), Instrument and Control Technicians, Riggers & Appointed Persons for Rigging Vouchers for tests are available from test providers: 3t | Training Services, AFS Technologies, EnerMech Training, Romeo Alpha International Ltd (Nicky Adams), Tullos Training Ltd, RelyOn UK, Forth Valley College, The Engineering College Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eY3x2Anq #EnergySkills #OilAndGas #safety #ConnectedCompetence #leadership #SkillsTransition #EngineeringConstructionIndustry #skills #TechnicalStandards Step Change in Safety, Offshore Energies UK
