We have launched a major independent review of the state of UK trade policy. The aim is to provide an impartial, comprehensive overview of UK trade policy. Have your say by 7th Feb 2025 here ➡️ citp.ac.uk/uktpr 👉 This review will be published in September and is intended to complement the one being undertaken by the World Trade Organization (WTO), which will report on its findings in autumn 2025. The WTO review process is extensive but tends to be largely descriptive with little commentary or analysis.    👉 Our review will analyse the effectiveness of policy and policy levers and coherence across policy areas, discussing strategic objectives and priorities, and it will be explicitly inclusive of the experience of all those affected by the government’s trade policy.   👉 In the spirit of inclusiveness, we are very keen to seek input from all those with interest and experience of trade and trade policy and all those affected by the UK Government’s trade policy. • We are thrilled to share an update on our latest data collections infrastructure projects!🌟   We’re investing £2 million to help develop and improve the UK’s foundational social science data infrastructure. This funding is going toward an exciting and diverse mix of projects designed to explore and create innovative initiatives that could transform how social science research data is collected and used.   These projects look to do the groundwork for larger projects that will establish transformational data collection infrastructure or develop innovative data collection methods that offer an alternative to mainstream survey approaches. Learnings from these projects can be applied to other sectors and make a significant contribution to current innovations in the research data landscape.    The projects are managed by our Data Strategy and Infrastructure Programme which hopes to support our community by investing in data infrastructure over the long term - this funding opportunity plays a critical role in achieving this goal.   We are looking forward to working with these projects!🎉
