This will take place at King’s College London on Monday 27 January 2025. This event will be held during National Productivity Week and feature presentations based on recent work by the Office for National Statistics, The Productivity Institute, and the ScaleUp Institute. The Office for National Statistics, the Wage and Employment Dynamics project (WED) and ADR UK (Administrative Data Research UK) will run the inaugural Earnings Symposium in collaboration with ESCoE. The event will take place at Coin Street Conference Centre in London on 26 March 2025. The symposium will explore the latest developments, methodologies, and research applications relating to ONS earnings data and earnings statistics. Alongside presentations from the ONS and WED teams, it will also include a series of invited papers. Measuring wealth is crucial to get a better idea about the state and progress of an economy. Many people are familiar with Gross Domestic Product (GDP), a commonly used economic measure of national output. However, whilst GDP provides useful insights, it tells only part of our economic story. Inclusive Income refers to estimates and analysis of economic progress which encompass a broader range of economic activities and assets than GDP does. It includes unpaid household services, ecosystem services, and more. A new ESCoE discussion paper from Richard Heys and Cliodhna Taylor (Office for National Statistics) brings together historic releases on Inclusive Income and outlines methods developed.
