Edventure's Incubation course is back and now open for enrolment to start in February 2025. Develop and launch a real idea, initiative, or enterprise as a member of a close-knit team; to make a real, positive impact locally. One day week, from February 7 to end of June 2025. Then you’ll launch it into the world, supported every step of the way by an Edventure facilitator. It’s fun. It’s all about doing. It puts you in the driving seat, going at a pace that suits you. Whatever your background, experience, or age, there’s a place for you on our courses. Our courses are a chance to try something new, help others do the same, and get one to one support to take forward your new skills, confidence, experience, community connections or sense of direction into the future. This course is for you if any ONE of the following apply: — You want to help bring about positive local change (with a close-knit team creating an impact project) — You’re looking for a purposeful career change, or you’re just starting out in your career — You’re looking to upskill with the tools for bringing ideas to life through social enterprise — You’d like to meet new people and challenge yourself. — You want to shake up your life and make a real difference Or perhaps you’d just like to meet new people and challenge yourself. Frome’s community fridge is back in the Town Centre! 🍎🥕 Frome's Community fridge has returned to the Loop de Loop building (the colourful building near the town library!). The Loop de Loop fridge will be open from 9AM to 5PM every day, and the fridge by the town hall isn’t going anywhere - and will stay open 8AM to 7PM We can't wait for you to start using the Loop de Loop fridge again. The fridge is for everyone, and its mission is all about fighting food waste in Frome. So far, we've saved 9 Wembley Stadiums worth of food, and we can't wait to save so much more. Did you know Frome's Community Fridge was the first of its kind in the UK when it first launched in 2016? It was launched with the help of an Edventure Incubation team! It is with sadness that we share the news that today is Doug's last day at Edventure, as he reluctantly steps away from his role as Edventure CEO. Due to the financial pressures of raising a young family in the current economy, he has decided to seek a position back in the corporate world. The final Edventure Show episode with Doug goes out today at 5PM — tune into FromeFM 96.6FM, or go to frome.fm and click the yellow play button to listen live online. (Or listen back online from Tuesday lunchtime) In this episode, Doug reflects on his journey with Edventure, and we celebrate impactful Incubation projects like Ding, Loop, and the community fridge. We discuss the power and importance of community-driven change, and Doug says goodbye, with some great music along the way. Doug says that “Edventure has been a dream job for me. Being part of a team and a community trying to make a real impact at grassroots level has taught me so much, connected me to so many amazing people and lifted my spirits with the range of impact we’ve had. Reaffirming my belief in the power of a small group of motivated people to change the world.” We’re grateful for all Doug’s contributions, from his time as Start-up Programme Lead and launching Edventure in Taunton, to his work as Edventure’s first CEO, overseeing a new organisational strategy, successful new courses such as Enterprising Women and Comms for Change, and a revitalised Hub. Edventure Board Directors Esther Maughan McLachlan and Sam Evans have already hit the ground running as interim Co-Executive Directors, while the staff and board work on a more permanent leadership solution. Esther and Sam bring significant experience in creating social impact and have already been very involved with operations over the last 6 months. They are enjoying working even more closely with the team and other stakeholders to capitalise on Edventure’s successes and secure the foundations for Edventure’s future together.
