🎄🎅🏻 #NotTheGrinch If you haven’t received a #Christmas card from us this year, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. 💨 A single Christmas card produces approximately 140 grams of CO2 emissions. 🧻 It takes one tree to make roughly 3,000 standard cards. 🚚 In the UK alone, an estimated 1 billion Christmas cards are thrown away each year. This translates to about 30,000 tonnes of card waste annually. Instead, we have partnered with Evertreen and committed to planting in areas of the world with the greatest need: 🌲 100 trees per month and a number of trees per practical completion of our projects. 👀 You can check out how we are doing here: https://lnkd.in/eFJtcrgD In the interim, to our partners and clients, we wish you a most amazing holiday period, full of #love and #recharging!

Beyond #Biotech - at The British Library by Bisnow. — 🏬 Billy Choi (Allies and Morrison)’s introduction really set the scene with what makes an ecosystem, followed by Chris Xitsas moderated a panel of experts on the Investment and Finance Outlook of #LifeSciences and Neelam Patel on developing the next wave of innovation districts. Key takeaways from today: 👉 the Life Sciences industry is not immune from what happened in the finance and VC industries over the past few years but prime investing shows signs of growth. 👉 there is some increased perceived risk from investors for Life Sciences but the wider picture of some of the non-traditional investors is that there is increased appetite for Life Sciences. 👉 there is no £trillion company in the UK or even in Europe. We need to create ecosystem(s) that will enable that. 👉 infrastructure and #planning remain one of the biggest risks. 👉 the need for space is not co-linear to the company size, as CROs and CDMOs are being used. ▪️Jackie Sadek’s view of the world is that there is massive interest in #UK 🇬🇧 innovation. International investment into #USA 🇺🇸 is debatable, especially following the US elections. World seems to think that British Science 🔬 is better! 👉 the #AutumnBudget2024 was largely positive for Life Sciences but we need to follow through in a non-partisan approach. We still have elements to fix such as the #Oxford-#Cambridge corridor. — Also some expressions I’ll definitely use in the future: ▪️Until we fix the transportation corridor, it’s a #GoldenV, not a #GoldenTriangle (Will H.) ▪️A #cluster is a bunch of dots. An #ecosystem is when those dots are connected (David Marks)

Less than three months before the Procurement Act (2003) goes live on 24th February 2025. The UK’s new Procurement Act, aims to enhance transparency, flexibility, and accountability in public procurement. By encouraging SME participation and streamlining procedures, it opens new avenues for innovation in construction. However, it also brings a demand for robust KPI tracking and a transparent lifecycle approach. Now is the time to align processes and strengthen compliance to leverage these changes. #Construction #ProcurementAct #PublicSector #SMEInclusion #Innovation

🌍 The UK Life Sciences Sector shows renewed momentum, with a record £20.4 billion government investment and strong Q3 growth in the Golden Triangle. Yet, following US election, industry leaders must consider the impacts of a Trump presidency, such as tariffs on US imports that could affect supply chains. Staying agile, diversifying partnerships, and capitalising on local investments are critical as we enter this next phase.
