Introducing The Worshipful Company of Carmen’s youngest Freeman, Sid Sadique Sadique. A veteran of the transport industry with over 40 years of experience, Sid began as an apprentice technician and is now a Fellow of both the IRTE and CILT. He holds a director’s position with PACTS and oversees multiple companies in commercial vehicles and green technologies, including Electra Commercial Vehicles Ltd and eStar Passionate about history and service, Sid brings his expertise, network, and dedication to the Carmen, enriching the Company and its mission. Congratulations and a very warm welcome The Worshipful Company of Carmen’s youngest Freemen Past Master Carmen Nick Laister was at Carmen’s Hall on 28 November 2024 to grant Freedom of The Worshipful Company of Carmen to a new member and welcome him into the company on his journey within the livery. The ceremony is known as a “Capping Ceremony” and once he becomes a Freeman of the Carmen he is eligible to become a Freeman of the City of London before becoming a Liverymen. Read below 👇 about those who have become our youngest Freeman. Freeman Sid Sadique Sid Sadique has been i in the transport industry for over 40 years, starting life as an apprentice Technician. He is a fellow of the IRTE and the CILT, and have a directors position with PACTS. Sid has many companies under his control all involved in commercial vehicles and he has contributed to the industry over many years. He is the chairman and owner of a number of companies: Electra Commercial vehicles ltd Estar Mercedes Benz Ltd Formerly owner of NRG Fleet Services including Riverside Truck Rental, and Direct Tyre Management, Sparshatt Mercedes Benz in Kent. Investor and owner in Emerge Renewables, Element 2 Hydrogen, Enerlytic and Green Cap Financial Solutions. His interest in becoming part of Carmen stems back many years, he has attended many functions, and continue to have an interest in social and charitable functions. On the charity front he continues to support many good causes related to our industry like Transaid and BEN, but also support others close to the hearts of his various teams. Through various events like coffee and cake days, golf days etc Sid is a great contributor to charities like The British Heart Foundation and Children's hospitals like Alder Hay. Sid has personally carried out aid missions to Romania many time over the years, supporting hospitals, orphanages and old peoples homes with clothing, equipment, food and other life support goods. On a personal basis, Sid takes all of his and his family's personal and business clothes to charity shops to be able to be reused. He has just supported a bike charity cycle ride, one of many he has done for people who are raising funds for causes that are personal to them Sid loves the history and background of great institutions, and can bring his knowledge, network and enthusiasm to Carmen for a positive input.
