About us

ElectraLink was created in 1998 by the UK's electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to provide an independent, secure and low-cost Data Transfer Service (DTS) for the deregulated UK electricity market. The DTS still underpins supplier switching, meter interoperability and other processes critical to the competitive gas and electricity markets in the UK. Since 2012, ElectraLink has been able to provide unique market insight through the analysis of the DTS dataset and our reputation for impartiality and energy market expertise makes us an ideal partner to support industry to develop solutions, facilitate innovation and reduce costs to consumers. ElectraLink is also a trusted advisor in energy market governance and change management. We helped to create and now act as secretariat to the industry ‘rule books’ and provide governance solutions, advisory services, support and management. This experience has provided us with a wealth of code framework and regulatory knowledge. We are a data-first organisation with a mission to help the GB energy market achieve Net Zero and transform for the benefit of households and businesses. Data will power decision-making and innovation, and this requires a transparent, democratised approach to data sharing and provision with security as a priority. To do this, we recruit the best people, encourage an open culture, prioritise work-life balance, and value learning and professional growth.
