We are pleased to announce a major investment by and partnership with Ricky Gervais. The deal with Gervais sees him become Co-Owner of Ellers Farm Distillery, initially focusing on global brand awareness and marketing efforts for the company’s leading brand, Dutch Barn Vodka, but also covers our gins, liqueurs and English single malt whisky.   Gervais has been looking for an opportunity to partner with a sustainable and ethical spirits business and agreed to become a major part of Dutch Barn after learning about the ethos and workings of the company. 🍸 DUTCH BARN HOSTS THEIR FIRST EVER YORKSHIRE MIXOLOGIST COMPETITION 🍸 To honour our proud Yorkshire heritage and the exceptional talent of bartenders in this region, we proudly announced the launch of the 'Yorkshire's Motherdutching Mixologist Competition' in late summer, aimed at identifying the finest mixologist in the area. With a grand prize featuring £5,000, Ricky Gervais Mortality tour tickets and more, the competition's brief was straightforward (well, almost!): create a unique Yorkshire-inspired cocktail using Dutch Barn Vodka. On Tuesday 26th November 2024, the 10 finalists, carefully selected by our team, gathered at Ellers Farm Distillery in the picturesque North Yorkshire to compete in the grand final. They went head-to-head for the coveted title of the ultimate Yorkshire MotherDutcher mixologist. The competition featured a first round where each contestant presented their cocktail to an esteemed panel of industry experts (Jessica Munro, Jonathan Fraser-Prinn, Anthony Cook and Jonathan Hawthorne). This was followed by a mystery box challenge, which incorporated our new range of flavoured vodkas for the top three finalists. The evening was filled with excitement and energy, marking the inaugural edition of this competition. We crowned Megan Debell from Below Stairs in Leeds as our winner. Congratulations, Megan! 🎉 We extend a heartfelt thank you to all our finalists, judges, entrants and our team who made this competition such a memorable experience for our everyone involved. The power is in our people 🤘 We had a ball working with (the frankly delicious) Dutch Barn Vodka at Laughterama and the Greenwich Comedy Festival. With a bespoke cocktail fit-out and our incredible bar team, we served up cocktails and sampled thousands of serves at both shows.
