Any donations will be a huge help to the BURTON UPON TRENT AND DISTRICT YMCA foodbank, for what is expected to be a busy few weeks post-Christmas. Unwanted gifts, excess Christmas food items, toiletries and carrier bags/bags for life are all gratefully received too. Unwanted gifts can be used in raffles at YMCA events and toiletry items can be used in the wash facilities at the Reconnect centre. Our food bank is open 7 days a week to everyone and, last year, more than 6,000 people were able to access a meal when they really needed help. However, this winter is set to be our most challenging yet. Cost-of-living increases have pushed up the price of an emergency food parcel from £25.44 to £32.58 in just 12 months, and donations are now at a premium.
