🌻CASE STUDY: Emorsgate Seeds Storage Emorsgate Seeds supplies wild seeds for rewilding and conservation projects throughout the UK, including The National Trust, RSPB, local authorities, and domestic customers. Recently our colleagues, Glen Wilson and Michelle Bell, visited Emorsgate Seeds to learn how Munters MCS300 desiccant dehumidifiers control relative humidity levels in their cold rooms. Benefits of dehumidification include increasing seed longevity and preventing germination in storage. • A Wild Visitor at Emorsgate Seeds Over the past few months, we’ve had an exciting and unexpected visitor at Emorsgate Seeds—a beautiful fox! We’ve spotted him on the riverbank, enjoying the natural surroundings, and recently, he’s grown bold enough to explore the yard close to where we work. It’s a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do: creating spaces that support wildlife and biodiversity. Seeing creatures like this fox thriving around us is a testament to the value of restoring and protecting habitats. Our work with wildflower seeds not only enhances the beauty of landscapes but also plays a part in providing food and shelter for a range of wildlife—from insects and birds to, as we’ve seen, the occasional curious fox! Have you had any close encounters with wildlife recently? We’d love to hear your stories!

A fantastic day spent at Great Chalfield, working alongside the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust breaking ground on a very exciting new agroforestry project, and taking part in an arable weed survey with our wonderful seed supplier Emorsgate Seeds. A huge thanks to all involved for their support.

Felt good to break ground today on our #agroforestry project at Great Chalfield 🌱 Working between our trusty geode, GIS mapping and our brilliant farm contractors (C P Awdry), we were able to mark down and plough our new rows with speed and ease. These rows will now be seeded and finally planted this winter with a diverse mix of trees, including fruit, nut and just pure natives to support #biodiversity, #soilhealth and #watermanagement. The alleys between will be sown in spring to create a resilient #silvoarable system. With thanks to #treesforclimate funding as part of the #GreatWesternCommunityForest for supporting this project 🌳 And great to be working in partnership with National Trust Adam Finch to make it happen! Looking forward to seeing trees go in very soon 🤞🏻 Daisy Huxter Jane Kinney Wiltshire Wildlife Trust National Trust #naturebasedsolutions #naturerecovery #treeplanting #sustainablefarming #naturefriendlyfarming
