We are influencing government policy on combatting knife crime. It’s critically important that young people have a say in this. Good to see Hits Radio speaking to Serena, a young person who has attended several Home Office gatherings and is involved in developing a new nation wide strategy. https://lnkd.in/eNdwFgBB

Great to have two young people, Mariella and Frenkie, who have come through our programmes at Empire starring in this brilliant narrative film! 🎬 🍿 Highlights the struggles and solutions of developing talent and opportunity for young people. Thanks to our partners and funders Impetus - Backing the best for asking us to be involved 🤝
🎥 Have you seen our 2024 film? Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are every bit as ambitious and talented as their better-off peers. But too many are missing out on the opportunities they deserve. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are: 🔸 40% less likely to get GCSE English and maths 🔸 40% less likely to go to university 🔸 Twice as likely to be out of a job or study after school It doesn't have to be this way. We work closely with organisations tackling the knottiest problems affecting young people today, building strong organisations that are delivering the most promising interventions supporting young people. Together, we can ensure that all young people have the opportunities they need to succeed. Discover how: www.impetus.org.uk

This week saw me travel 740 miles to visit 7 grassroots amateur boxing clubs. These clubs reached out for support in delivering community focused programmes and support with apodpting a sustainable business model. I had the privilege to meet some amazing people who give up their time and energy to serve their communities. Looking forward to training and supporting these clubs from January.
