What an incredible final keynote to finish off this year’s eoa Annual Conference. Employee ownership is a force for good. And here’s the proof. A chance meeting between a Colombian nun and a man from Kent 30 years ago sparked something extraordinary. By making the Mikalina Foundation part of the group transition to EO, Páramo Directional Clothing has helped empower over 10,000 women with: ✅ Stable jobs with fair pay ✅ Education and training to change their futures ✅ A voice in their workplace This is a mission to uplift women from poverty and exploitation, helping them regain their identities and inspire even more women. “Customer experience is the new business battleground” For the second keynote of the eoa Annual Conference, Jonathan Winchester, CEO of insight6, wasn’t here to make bold claims. He had plenty of data to back it up. This funny, practical, and sobering session provided delegates plenty to think on. In fact, Jonathan promised everyone would walk out with 4-5 actions to improve their customer experience (CX) So, what were your key takeaways? Maybe it was one of his CX secrets… Like the significant rise in CX from name badges. Or maybe key questions to ask yourself, like how to think through your customer’s eyes. No doubt the ‘Big Reveal’ will stick with you for a long time. 60 businesses in the room discovered there and then they’d been mystery shopped on their CX. The results were incredibly insightful and provide a perfect springboard to supercharge CX. And always remember – follow up! What did you think of the first eoa Annual Conference keynote? Javier Bajer delivered a funny and informative session. And the interactive role-playing went down a storm. Javier discussed way more than we can fit into a single post. But here’s a few key takeaways to remember: 💡Talking about culture doesn’t make culture work. 💡Real culture is embedded in everything a business does. 💡Behaviour is an output. Beliefs drive behaviours. 💡The carrot and stick approach simply doesn’t work. That’s why we need a toolbox. Which Javier was all too happy to share. “There’s no other EO event like this in the world” We couldn’t agree more, Maryam! What a brilliant opening to the eoa Annual Conference from our excellent compere. And judging by the words you all contributed the most to our word cloud - Learning, Networking, Connections, Inspiration – You’re right there with Maryam. It was a tough act to follow, but our Chief Exec James de le Vingne was up to the task. Here’s a few highlights from his rousing speech: 🟣The UK EO sector has hit 2,000 members (doubling since 2022) 🟣EOT is being adopted international 🟣The credibility of the sector continues to grow Okay, so that’s looking at the past and present. What about the future? As James said, we shouldn’t wait for government solutions alone. We should collectively take action. And EO gives us the power to do that now. That’s why we’re building on our achievements and pushing for national policies. Together, we can hit 3% EO for the UK business landscape. Success comes step by step, but the tipping point is within reach. Let’s make EO not just a choice, but a defining part of UK business growth.
