Education

An academic empowerment platform bridging the gap between student ability and self-belief.

About us

An academic empowerment platform bridging the gap between student ability and self-belief. Overview Empowered By Vee is an academic empowerment platform that supports underrepresented and disempowered youth in their education journeys. Our goal is to widen access to higher education institutions through workshops, school visits, our annual summit and free resources. We equip our students with practical tools to overcome barriers, whether racial, socio-economic or personal. EBV Annual Summit Our flagship event in August brings together students in their transitional years (16-25 year olds) for an intensive and dynamic day of workshops. The sessions are led by mentors and experts in their respective fields. Past topics include tackling imposter syndrome; application processes, from undergraduate to PhD; study skills; prioritising your mental health. Past speakers include Malala Yousafzai, Jade Bowler, Jack Edwards, Renée Kapuku and Ehis Ilozobhie. Our attendees leave feeling reinvigorated as they step into the next stage of their education. Most importantly, they leave feeling seen and valued, as students with the potential to act on their ambitions.

Here's how you can help me make a difference: 💸 $75 = Half a semester 💸 $150 = Full semester 💸 $450 = Full year Every dollar counts toward helping these girls cross the finish line of high school and open doors to university. And of course I will keep you updated with how they are getting on, and keep full transparency of when the tuition fees are paid etc Join me in making a difference—let’s give these girls a brighter future! 🌍✨ Donate today! https://lnkd.in/djhpzYQN and help me reshare this post to reach others who can help too! It’s INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL! An important day to highlight the fight for girls education and a girls’ right to exist. All girls deserve an education. But did you know that globally 40% of girls don’t finish school. Too many are forced out of the classroom because of poverty, war and discrimination. But against these odds, girls are determined to learn. This #DayOfTheGirl I’m joining Plan International UK in standing with girls around the world who continue to be denied this right I’m sharing this old school photo from my childhood to highlight the power and importance of education. As nothing changes the odds for a girl like an education does. Please share your own school photos, school memories and check out @plan_uk for info on how you can support their work, so that every girl can finish school.
