✨✨✨Absolutely delighted to be announced as a finalist in the Woman Who achieves awards 2024. Such fabulous recognition of the journey that I have been in over the last year to develop and expand EN:ABLE SUSTAINABILITY ✨✨✨

What is the ONE THING that you could do to reduce the sustainability impact of the products you make and sell? 💡Could you use less material? 💡Should you be using a different material? 💡Could you make them lighter? 💡Could you make them last longer? 💡Could you make them more circular? …Would this, then bring extra value into the company? 💷 I’m working with a company at the moment who are doing just that. They have identified an opportunity to extract, test and remanufacture some components that have previously been sent for recycling. This will not only reduce their waste disposal costs but will also reduce the cost of the inventory they need to buy, to make the products in the first place. Despite the rain, the early start and the burnt thumb (don’t ask!) I had a warm welcome and a great 1st visit to a C&W Chamber of Commerce event - lots of interesting connections were made and I’ll definitely be back. Well, it’s been quite a week! So it only seems right that today is the day I take a leap of faith! I’ve just received my nomination badge for the Ladies First Business & Inspirational Women Award 2024: Sustainable Business Leader ❓One of the questions I was asked, was ‘what makes you stand out from others?’… …Well, I’m not normal, that’s for sure!!! 🖍️ With a background in Industrial design, I am already an unusual entity in the sustainability arena. Added to that, I am a rare hybrid between practitioner and academic. My process is also quite novel. I help companies to innovate and create better products by turning data into actionable insights. I use my in-depth knowledge of sustainable innovation and circular thinking to solve real-time problems within the often-tight constraints of business. I am a big advocate of combining qualitative and quantitative methods to identify opportunities for improvement. I offer research skills, critical reflection and practical experience as well as a deep understanding of the ‘voice of the customer’ which comes from my design training. EN:ABLE Sustainability was borne out of my lifelong passion to play a meaningful role in driving sustainability forward and this has been such a great opportunity to reflect on how far my business has come and the value that it contributes to the sector.
