Today we officially launch the UK’s first carbon capture pilot at an energy from waste site, partnering with Hitachi Zosen Inova. The launch is a milestone for the UK's carbon capture sector and an important step in enfinium's strategy to deploy CCUS across our six facilities, generating carbon removals at scale and support the UK’s Net Zero target. As part of last week's Welsh Labour Conference, enfinium supported a roundtable event to discuss the future of the waste economy in Wales and how our pioneering Parc Adfer carbon capture project could support the Net Zero agenda. Our Director of External Affairs Karl Smyth had the pleasure of being joined by the Welsh Government's Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning Rebecca Evans MS and Rebecca Gittins, MP for Clwyd East and moderator for the discussion.

During Wales Climate Week, we are pleased to be supporting the Welsh Government’s goal of a zero-waste economy through encouraging repair and reuse. Today, we have awarded over £4,000 to five Repair Cafés located near to our Parc Adfer facility in Deeside, North Wales. This funding will equip local volunteers with tools and training, as well as support outreach to younger people to give ‘hands on’ experience of repair. By extending the life of everyday items, we can reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and cut carbon emissions. The next round of our Repair Café Support Fund opens in January 2025. #WalesClimateWeek #CircularEconomy #repair
