I had a wonderful day yesterday with the North East Chamber of Commerce receiving an award. This morning I'm sat in a very cold warehouse, remembering that there's no heat on at the weekend! However I will go home to a warm house and a hot meal but for many that is a dream. This Christmas we need to fill around 9000 boxes with Christmas food for distribution across the region. We do this by online donations but today we are also inviting you to do a shop and drop it off to our Blaydon Centre - Unit 2, Franklin Park, Blaydon NE21 5TL. We do not get given this food by supermarkets! It's all bought (mostly at retail price) through the donations and grants we get and this year has been really, really tough. The thing is though, if we all did SOMETHING - sponsored a box, brought a bag of food in, sent an online shop - then we could make sure that people have a little joy, a Christmas meal and to know the great North East commuunity cares and looks after each other. If you come in today and ask for me I'll put the kettle on and tell you why we need your business to come alongside us and why it matters.
