On a rainy day in New York last week, Evident AI launched its 2024 ranking of AI maturity at financial institutions at an event for industry leaders. Enzai's Var Shankar joined the event and highlighted four particularly insightful conversations: 🟩 Emmanuel Roman, CEO of PIMCO, shared that many economic and political developments can be traced to Covid-19, the need to help people in its wake, and the stimulus turning out to be too much in hindsight. 🟩 Anthony Scaramucci, Founder of SkyBridge Capital, shared his contrarian view that the second Trump administration will be more stable and predictable than the first one. 🟩 Teresa Heitsenrether, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at JPMorganChase, shared how her company’s AI maturity results from bold strategic and financial choices, while building upon years of proactive work in cloud, data, and technology modernization. 🟩 Ian Bremmer, Head of the Eurasia Group, suggested that the second Trump administration will likely be a test of how well European countries can stand together on key issues, including AI. Ryan, Jack and Liam will be out in force for our fifth IAPP conference this year, ready to talk all things AI governance. - Our very own Max Cluer will be speaking at GRC World Forums' Risk AI in London on Tuesday. Max will be on a panel with Caro Robson, Pauline Norstrom FRSA FIoD FBCS and Dale Waterman, sharing his latest insights into what directors and officers need to know about managing AI risk. - On Tuesday, we will also be in the ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall as part of the Invest Northern Ireland ‘Our Future in Focus’ Summit. Fantastic opportunity to explore what the future holds for NI, and how AI is going to be a key part of it (and particularly excited to see our friends from Invest Northern Ireland – Americas again!). - On Thursday, Var Shankar will be attending the Evident AI Symposium in New York - a gathering of 200 of the most senior leaders in AI and banking. 🍁 This week, Canada announced the creation of an AI Safety Institute (CAISI). Canada has a tradition of leadership in responsible AI.
