    In my previous post, I mentioned Amazon's new feature showing the number of reorders, which got some interesting engagement. Now, Amazon has introduced yet another update—"Sold by Amazon." Amazon is consistently refining its platform, making subtle but impactful changes. With "Sold by Amazon," it seems they are focused on making things clearer for buyers, helping them make quicker decisions. But what does this mean for sellers? While it might seem helpful for consumers to trust the source of their purchases more easily, this could also lead to more direct competition with Amazon's own offerings. As third-party sellers, we’re left wondering how this transparency will affect our sales in the long run. Additionally, Amazon's frequent tweaks to the search page are clearly aimed at making the buying journey more seamless, but it raises questions about visibility for sellers who rely on this space to reach their audience.     As an Amazon PPC Analyst, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial product pricing is to overall performance. Recently, I conducted an in-depth analysis of a product from the Amazon UK marketplace, examining a full year of historical data. Throughout this period, the cost of goods sold (COGs) remained constant, but there were several adjustments to the product’s selling price. It's important to note that the prices shown in the data include 20% VAT. In the attached graph, you’ll notice how changes in pricing impacted both sales volume and overall profit. Key Observations: 📈 The blue line tracks total profit, the green line represents the average selling price, and the red line shows the total number of units sold each month. 💰 Interestingly, the graph reveals that even with higher pricing, the total profit didn’t significantly increase compared to periods with lower prices. This raises the question: should one prefer high pricing with fewer sales or lower pricing with more sales, especially when the profit margins remain nearly identical? 📉 The significant dip in sales during December and July is worth noting. December's dip is typical of seasonality effects, while the drop in July was due to an account suspension, impacting the overall numbers. The last data point in August reflects forecasted figures, which anticipate a recovery. The graph highlights the delicate balance between pricing strategies and sales volume. It’s a decision every seller has to weigh: higher prices with potentially fewer sales or lower prices with more sales but similar profit.
