And we're off!!!!! Planning Permission has been accepted for Escape2Make's first ever home on the high street in Lancaster - opening Feb 2025. At present we operate from many different locations across Lancaster and Morecambe, and do not have a permanent base for young people to drop in or for clubs to operate from. We are so grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for funding us so we can establish this important dedicated home! The planning application was prepared with one of our young design consultants, Darcey Barker, and supported by HPA Architects. Darcey started with E2M aged 14 on our Architecture Club and now studies architecture at Lancaster University. NEWS FLASH! We are so grateful to everyone who has made a donation towards our Crowd Funder. A huge donation of £5k has just come in from Mighty House in Lancaster, so we have now NEARLY hit our target! We are bowled over with this generosity! We now have just have less than £100 left to raise!!!!!! Last night, I swam around Capenwray to raise funds for Escape2Make! Anyone who knows me knows I hate to be cold, I don't like the dark and I'm not the best swimmer! Jane Samson, (E2M's Trustee responsible for Quality Cake & Governance) also swam...and we were so grateful for Penny Lane for coming to cheer us on, guard our crocs on the lake shore and feed us biscuits and hot chocolate afterwards! Can you buy us a bus ticket please? We want to make sure all young people from the Lancaster and Morecambe district can come to our free creative activities. This year we started offering to pay for any young person’s travel who needed to use public transport to get to our sessions. We are raising money for our next big youth project in February 2025 which will also launch our brand new creative youth space in Lancaster city centre. As little as £4, the price of a Stagecoach day rider ticket, can help us support a young person travel to and from one of our sessions where they can gain skills, confidence and friends.
