100% animal free fungal base food, with amazing health and nutritional properties.
About us
Eternal is solving the absence of a properly sustainable and cost-effective protein ingredient that is flavor neutral. The company uses AI and computer vision to improve the fungi fermentation techniques of existing and approved strains. The result is a market-ready product that suits better the needs of a range of food manufacturers, reducing the amount of post processing needed for an end product.

“XPRIZE helped us push our ambition and try to reach a global scale.” - #XPRIZEFeedTheNextBillion finalist Eternal As we get ready for XPRIZE Feed the Next Billion finals, learn how biotechnology company Eternal democratizes access to protein around the world through their alternative chicken breast made primarily from their specialized base product: Mycofood. Mycofood is an animal-free biomass developed from nutrient-rich Fusarium venenatum–an FDA and EFSA-approved fungus. By using analytic AI and microprotein cultivation technology, Eternal has made many strides with their technology including accelerating research, optimizing production, and reducing land usage compared to traditional chicken farming by 89%. Starting the long journey home from FFT gives me time to reflect on what I saw and learned. It was great to hear so many of the largest organisations, both CPG and Food Service talk about the importance of Positive Nutrition. It’s not enough to take the bad stuff out, we need to put the good stuff in which is a a great opportunity for Eternal What really struck me though was the amount and variation of companies developing new foods via fermentation, and the consensus around the lack of scale up and full scale CDMO infrastructure. There was genuine excitement when I shared the plans and capabilities of Synbio and Immensa! If I missed you at the show but you want to learn more about either get in touch.
