So following on from our last post, here is another EV we had in a few weeks ago. This only has 69 miles on the clock, it is basically a new car!! There is no crash damage, there is no flood damage and no damage full stop. This one had its front end parts and the wheels stolen and I can only guess due to wait times on some of these parts that it has been written off. There is a big conversation to be had about part wait times and how they are handled but I will leave that for another day. Do you think it should have been a write off? ♻️

So I get asked quite often why do we never post our videos on LinkedIn and to be honest I never really have an answer 🤷🏽♂️ I’m stuck on a plane right now with a 3 hour delay so I said I would post this one to see what interest there is in content like this ♻️ We get a lot of cars in with low miles and in good condition, we also work a lot with all of the components on an EV that you can think of. COMPANY CAR ALERT! I am sick of boring EVs!! Yes, they are fast, cheap to run, getting far cheaper to buy, maintenance free, reliable, easy to drive, safe, comfy…… but, I find them pretty dull That's why my next company car is starting life as “trash”…. Welcome the CAT-S write of Fiat 500e! having covered 4,500miles! I bought it for £3,000 (£28k under list!). Al Locke and Team BRIT who are going through the “lovely” job of fixing it, thank you Calvin Beattie and EV Breakers for donating parts! The problem is, a fixed EV is still a BORING EV… this got me thinking about safety…. I think it needs a roll cage, but, there is no room inside it for one… solution - it's getting an EXTERNAL ROLL CAGE and BULL BARS! Welcome recycled tubular seamless steel, £80 steel, £140 delivered This got me thinking about the interior, I need it to be harder wearing to cope with the dog, kids and general life of being a “beer's car”. So, it is getting custom leather interior… problem is, leather is not particularly sustainable, this got me thinking, why not get the leather from end of use products! All beautifully stitched together like patch work! Welcome Ray Clarke and Vicky Grubb Its still not quite there yet… got me thinking, what about those days where I need to drive on the beach, or untarmacked roads? Solution, we are getting the car lifted and fitted with off-road tyres! But, what happens when it is on the beach, or marooned on a mountain and there is no charger? Welcome the integrated roof charger! Thank you Julian Wiley for supplying the panels! This is a HUGE technical obstacle as the fiat 500e code needs to be chopped into to take charging whilst driving, and, it will need an inverter as it is 48v But… what about when I need more charge and for some unknown reason the grid is struggling? Welcome the solar pack! But solar packs often have new batteries… welcome another CAT-S write off Nissan Leaf which cost £3,000 delivered! And its perfect battery pack that is getting converted to 48volts and then turned into a 30kwh charger… PB Design (EVjuiceNgo), thank you! What if I need that additional power with me? Welcome, the off-road trailer with the integrated Nissan leaf battery! Thank you Draper Tools for providing a couple of welders for me! The trailer will be connected to my domestic supply, charged by solar, sold back to the grid and as it will be in a trailer it can come with me! What if I need to listen to music that is actually music, like Nirvana's Nevermind, or Def Leppard's Hysteria, or G&R Appetite for Destruction? Welcome the cassette player (honestly, this is my favourite bit)! Tunley Environmental are going to be tracking the carbon footprint & cost of this entire project, and it WILL become my personal company car (School run is going to be fun!). The aim is simple, create a badass electric #hotrod from “scrap” products at a cost making it comparable to a normal everyday second-hand car, ideally sub £10k #CircularEconomy #NetZero
