A new study reviewing postoperative endophthalmitis (POE) in the UK over two decades found that most cases were caused by Gram-positive bacteria, with Staphylococcus epidermidis being the most common. Microbial trends remained stable, and empirical intravitreal Vancomycin and Ceftazidime/Amikacin provided effective broad coverage for the vast majority of cases. #Ophthalmology #OpenAccess
