Fairfield Secures River Thames Locks Control and Hydraulic Upgrade Project Fairfield has been engaged by the Environment Agency under Lot 2 (MEICA) of the Asset Operation Maintenance and Response (AOMR) framework to conduct site condition surveys and develop detailed design solutions for the hydraulics and control systems at six locks along the navigable River Thames. The sites, spanning from Osney near Oxford to Sunbury-on-Thames in Surrey, will benefit from enhanced reliability and maintainability by implementing upgraded hydraulic systems and improved, standardised lock controls. Phase 1 of the project will involve detailed site surveys and the development of comprehensive design solutions to upgrade or replace the existing hydraulic and control systems at each lock. This work is essential to ensuring the continued functionality of the assets, enabling regular inspections and preventative maintenance to keep the locks fully operational for the foreseeable future. The works will be delivered by Fairfield MEICA JV, a collaboration between Fairfield Control Systems Ltd and Fairfield Engineering Solutions, combining the expertise of both companies to provide solutions for the Environment Agency’s infrastructure along the River Thames. Phase 2 of the project will follow as a Compensation Event, supporting the continued modernisation and long-term resilience of these vital waterway assets. #MEICA #RiverThames #EnvironmentAgency #Phase1 #AssetOMR
