Why does my umbrella company payslip look different? 💰 Understanding your umbrella company payslip can be confusing, especially if you're used to conventional employment. Here's a quick guide: 1️⃣ Conventional Payslips: Start from your gross pay, with deductions for PAYE tax, NI, and pensions. 2️⃣ Umbrella Payslips: Start from the “assignment rate” (amount received by the umbrella from the agency), minus the umbrella’s margin, Employer’s NI, Apprenticeship Levy, holiday pay, employer pension contributions, and other costs. The remaining amount is your gross pay. 🔍 Your gross pay is then further deducted for PAYE tax, employee NI, employee pension contributions, etc., resulting in your net pay.
