We support and empower Fife's lone parents and families in need for better todays and brighter tomorrows

About us

Fife Gingerbread supports lone parent, vulnerable and disadvantaged families across Fife. We help those who need help most, and give a voice to those who are not heard. Our ethos is Engage - Support - Progress, working holistically and at a pace that suits the parent and family. In 2017 we reached 30 years of helping families, in that time going from a grassroots organisation to the largest independent families and children support charity in Fife. We actively seek and plug gaps in local provision through various projects, with alleviating child poverty at the core of our work.

  • Ending 16 Days of Activism: Celebrating Progress and Our Commitment to Families As we wrap up the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence, we’re proud to spotlight the CashBack for Young Parents Project, a vital initiative making a difference for families in Fife. This work is part of the wider CashBack for Communities Programme, which just released its impact report, showing support for over 15,000 young people across Scotland last year. At Fife Gingerbread, we’re honored to contribute to this achievement, partnering with Starcatchers to: 🌟 Empower young parents under 25 through 1:1 support. 🌟 Strengthen parent-child bonds with baby sensory groups designed by Starcatchers artists. We also deliver Mellow for Young People in schools, addressing relationship challenges, substance misuse, and anti-social behavior. 💬 Participant voices: "Before [CashBack], I wasn’t looking into the future. Now I have goals and feel confident about caring for myself and my child." Awareness campaigns like the 16 Days of Activism are crucial, but real change demands systemic reform. Issues like post-separation abuse and barriers in the child maintenance system show the ongoing need for advocacy. We’re proud to be part of the CashBack for Communities story, working toward a future where families can thrive. Thank you for standing with us. Together, we’re making a difference. 💜 📖 Read the full CashBack report: https://lnkd.in/eC2rgD4Y #CB4C #16DaysOfActivism #SupportYoungFamilies #FifeGingerbread #EndGenderBasedViolence

  • The Power of Individual Giving: Thank You! 💛 We know times are tough, and every penny feels precious. That’s why we’re so overwhelmed when someone takes the time to visit our JustGiving page and make a donation. Individual giving is hard, but it keeps us going—it shows how much people care about helping others. 🌟 Here are just a couple of examples that truly warmed our hearts: Charlotte D: "This is my pocket money. Thank you for helping boys and girls in my area." P6W Christmas Stall at Kirkcaldy West Primary School: Niamh, Maisie, Harper, Alexa, Adrianna, and Izzy—you’ve inspired us all! To everyone who has donated, whether big or small, your kindness is making a real difference to families across Fife this winter. Thank you for believing in what we do. 💛 If you’d like to support, visit: https://lnkd.in/e46kB9c4
