About us
Founded in 1994, FINE+RARE has grown into one of world’s largest fine wine merchants. Having started with just three men, an idea and a small office in West London, our offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, Switzerland and Germany now hold more than 80 staff, speaking thirteen different languages, selling wine to all corners of the globe. HOME Hong Kong is our contemporary retail and private members’ space in the prime central district of Hong Kong. It is a truly one-of-a-kind space for fine wine expertise and knowledge, a place for collectors to discover, drink and purchase exceptional wines. It is bringing together the living stories of the rarest, curated collectibles and celebrate the craftsmanship and beauty behind them. WHY CHOOSE FINE+RARE? Our pricing model is radically different to most merchants. Rather than holding and financing stock, we create a unique marketplace by sourcing from thousands of different suppliers – direct from growers, from private collectors and trusted trade suppliers with prices constantly being matched to the industry. Private client reserves on sale exclusively through us means that thousands of wines are immediately available, while a further £150m+ of wines are available to ship to order from the wider international marketplace. This provides our customers with the broadest choice available anywhere – all at competitive market prices. Plus, with no stock of our own to ‘push’ or finance, we are completely impartial in our selections and recommendations. As well as an unmatchable range, our marketplace offers transparency and supreme agility. We can move quickly to find the next big thing, or that impossibly obscure Italian wine that no-one else can offer. The 2023 vintage in Burgundy prompted many conversations about yield. The region’s vignerons were faced with volumes, often the likes of which they’d never seen before. But, when it comes to wine, how much is too much? We spoke to some of the world’s top producers – Ch. Margaux, Cerbaiona, Belargus, Dunn and more – about the complex relationship between yield and quality. https://lnkd.in/eXdtsqAf

After last week’s deep-dive into the 2023 growing season in Burgundy, and the style of wines it produced, this week we’re bringing you even more about the year. Here, we delve into the vintage at the producer level, reporting on how each vigneron handled the year – as well as our pick of their range. https://lnkd.in/e7DTcKKz

It’s rare for Burgundy’s vignerons to be blessed with both quality and quantity – but 2023 offered just that. There’s much more to this year, however, than the headlines. After time spent tasting our way through the villages of the Côte d’Or, here's everything you need to know about the year and the wines it produced. https://lnkd.in/eXrbcMYz

On the 13th and 14th of November 2024, FINE+RARE, in partnership with Brunello Cucinelli and La Paulée, hosted an exceptional gathering. This exclusive event, inspired by Burgundy’s traditional end-of-harvest celebration, was held in the breathtaking village of Solomeo, Umbria—home to Brunello Cucinelli. Castello di Solomeo Welcomes La Paulée brought together iconic wine estates, distinguished guests, and collectors in a celebration of wine, gastronomy and Brunello's unique approach to humanism. The event marked a unique collaboration between the timeless traditions of Burgundy and the remarkable spirit of Solomeo, offering attendees an unforgettable experience steeped in history, craftsmanship, and generosity. Thank you to the teams at Brunello Cucinelli, Castello di Solomeo, La Paulee and Maison Troisgros for their collaboration in hosting such a remarkable event. https://lnkd.in/ekxvC4zk

Jean-Marie Fourrier is a master of Burgundy – crafting some of the world’s most sought-after expressions of Pinot Noir. And yet, the inquisitive vigneron is always learning. Ahead of the release of his 2023s, we revisit a conversation with the winemaker – diving into his élevage studies and how each vintage offers a new lesson. https://lnkd.in/gS9MQgUU

To many, Tenuta San Guido's Sassicaia needs no introduction, the original Super Tuscan and perhaps Italy’s most famous wine. Last night at The Connaught, we had the privilege of tasting 16 exceptional vintages, from the 1983 to the landmark 1985 — the 100-point wine that defined a new era. Expertly guided by Guido Baldeschi, Sales and Marketing Director of Tenuta San Guido, the tasting was complemented by a seasonal six-course dinner crafted by Michelin-starred chef Hélène Darroze. Standout vintages included the 2010, 2016, and, of course, the 1985. The 2007, 2011, and 2012 vintages, with their cooler profiles, showed brilliantly — fresh, delicate, and beautifully mineral, each very gastronomic pairing extremely well with the dishes. The fruit profile, refinement, and sensuality of these outlier vintages are exceptional, and they are drinking beautifully now, so they should not be overlooked.

Last night, we hosted the Bordeaux 2022 Private Client tasting in collaboration with UNION DES GRANDS CRUS DE BORDEAUX, exploring the latest vintage to be bottled by the region's top châteaux.
