💚 We pride ourselves on our modern working practices and we offer genuine flexibility over both time and location, with hybrid working for almost all of our roles, as well as the opportunity to work across our multiple offices. 🖥️ Many of our colleagues work from home for some of the time, and are present in the office when it counts. 🧁 We hold monthly All-Colleague days in each office where we encourage our staff to come into the office to build connections, learn from each other, collaborate and socialise. 🐈⬛ But, our colleagues aren’t completely alone when they work from home – as we’ve been asking colleagues to share photos of the companions they share their workspace with, or as they're otherwise known; 'the unsung heroes of workplace video calls'! 🦜 🐶 A huge thank you to everyone who sent in pictures of their furry friends – and if our market-leading hybrid working policies sound appealing, please be sure to look through our latest vacancies here: https://lnkd.in/ePvqr7c7 #FletchersSolicitors #HybridWorking #LegalCareers #FlexibleWorking #WorkFromHome #Pets #LegalRecruitment

✨ We were honoured to recently attend The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Charity’s annual Jan Fairclough Ball with the event raising just over £57,000 towards the charity’s latest appeal, the Home from Home appeal. 👏 The Home from Home is relative accommodation, dedicated to creating comfortable and welcoming spaces for the families of patients receiving critical care at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Charity. These spaces provide a vital sanctuary where loved ones can stay close, offering support and reassurance at what can often be a difficult and emotional time. The Jan Fairclough Ball is held each year in memory of Jan Fairclough, who died in 2013, and was the wife of the charity’s Patron, David Fairclough. 💃 The 13th annual Jan Fairclough Ball was held at the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse in Liverpool on Friday 15th November, where guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of glitz and glamour, hosted by the award-winning broadcaster Steve Hothersall, and which included a three-course meal, auction and raffle. 💚 A huge thank you to Walton Centre for putting on such a fantastic event, and for such a worthy cause. We were delighted that we could support the evening and a big thank you to Sarah Robinson, Sarah Ouko, Jennifer H., Jessica Lisett-Jones, Sinead Connolly, Sophie McGarry for attending this memorable evening. A special thanks also go to Professor Professor Paul May, trustee of Fletchers Foundation, and his wife Sarah for attending. #FletchersFundraising #CharityPartnership #FletchersSolicitors #JanFaircloughBall #HomeFromHome

🪩 For the last few months, Fletchers Clinical Negligence Solicitor, Sean McCann, has been taking on the challenge of learning to dance, all for the sake of a good cause, as he was training to take part in the Stick 'n' Step charity Strictly Come Dancing themed competition. 🕺 Despite having no previous dance experience or knowledge, Sean has been training hard each week, along with his dance partner, Kirsten, a professional dancer from a local dance school, who has been teaching him the ropes and perfecting their cha-cha-cha for the big day. 💚 The big finale took place at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa just over a week ago. Sean was joined on the evening by Maya Patel, Ami Dollery, Kate Lozynska, Daniel Pope-Finney, Rosie Mcknight and Zoe Morrison who all went along to support him and though he didn’t take home the glitter ball trophy, the event itself raised a huge £45,000. We caught up with Sean to get some insight into the evening: ❓ Had you ever danced before? 🗨️ No, not once ever, and not likely to again! ❓ How was the training? 🗨️ It was difficult to do as much as I would have liked with a busy house and new baby on the way, but the dance partner was provided by Dance Passion in Walton, Liverpool and they were really accommodating. ❓ Will you be continuing dancing now that it’s over? 🗨️ I suspect that will be the end of my dancing career, but you never know! ❓ How was the event on the night? 🗨️ Apart from the nerves that I couldn’t shift, it was a really fun day and night and the other contestants were really fun and made it a really good night. There's still time to donate! Visit Sean's fundraiser here: https://lnkd.in/e-ueAhWF #StrictlyStickNStep #CharityFundraising #CharityDance #StrictlyComeDancingCompetition #DanceCompetition

⚠ Road Safety Week, organised by Brake, the road safety charity, takes place between 17th – 23rd November. This year, they have put road victims at the heart of #RoadSafetyWeek. 🙏 The charity wants to raise awareness of the devastating toll of road crashes, and celebrate the work of the incredible people who support families after a road death or serious injury. 🛣 Every year, more than 1700 people die on UK roads. Another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries. The numbers are shocking, and there has been no significant reduction for more than a decade. 👩👦👦 But road casualties are not just statistics. Behind every number is a family in turmoil. A grief-stricken family trying to navigate its way through the complex procedures that often follow a road crash. Behind every number is a family whose lives have been changed forever in an instant. 🗨 For this months’ #ColleagueSpotlight, we are shining our spotlight on a number of solicitors who have a keen interest in road safety; from solicitors in our two-wheel team to those who campaign for road safety to find out more about them, and what safety advice or tips they could offer this Road Safety Week. 💚 A huge thank you to Lena Farnell, Nadia Kerr, Polly H. and Jayne Orme for taking part. 🔗 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eXtV3zyW #RoadSafetyWeek2024 #RoadSafety #SupportingFamilies #CyclingSafety #PedestrianSafety #CarSafety #RoadSafetyAdvice #FletchersSolicitors

On Monday, solicitors from our Group Action team hosted their first in-person session, where we welcomed clients and those affected by the actions of orthopaedic surgeon Mian Munawar Shah, to provide an update on recent developments in the case. Mr Shah performed surgery between 2010 and 2020 at Spire Healthcare’s Spire Little Aston facility and Walsall Manor Hospital. The Walsall Healthcare Trust referred him to the Royal College of Surgeons to carry out an independent review following which it suspended him from practice and elected to recall up to 600 former patients for further evaluation. Former patients of Mr Shah have experienced serious medical complications, with some even losing the use of their arm. The face-to-face session meant our team could advise on the claims process, and provide opportunities for clients to ask any questions directly to the legal teams dealing with the claim. Over 40 clients attended the session and were able to hear the moving story of one client in his 70s who underwent shoulder surgery by Mian Munawar Shah, and has since faced numerous complications. The session also provided one of the first opportunities for clients to share their individual experiences with one another. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to our legal team for hosting the session: Christian Beadell, Emma Edwards, Amelia Priest, Aminah Ibrahim and Matthew Mitchell. #FletchersSolicitors #GroupAction #ClinicalNegligence #MianMunawarShah #SurgicalNegligence #MedicalMalpractice
