If you think workplace conflict NEVER happens at your company... we're going to hold your hand while we tell you this. You're wrong. 🤼♂ Personality clashes. Communication breakdowns. Too much competitive energy. These things are all perfectly natural when you bring a bunch of hard-working people together. But it doesn't have to fester and get out of control! Here are our top tips for nipping things in the bud. DO: ✅ Address issues head-on, ideally through face-to-face conversations ✅ Focus on finding a solution rather than just finger-pointing ✅ Come prepared with specific examples rather than a generic moan sesh ✅ Document patterns of behaviour, if things are escalating — this helps you protect yourself ✅ Take time to cool off before taking any action DON'T: ❌ Hide behind email or Slack messages (even if it feels tempting!) ❌ Make a scene with a public confrontation in front of the whole team ❌ Let things build up without doing something about it ❌ Gossip about the situation (it never helps) ❌ Make it personal: keep your feedback constructive and professional Remember: you're never going to end all workplace conflict, but you CAN handle it constructively and professionally without anyone's feelings getting hurt.
