The 1.5°C limit set by The Paris Agreement is closer than we think. Are our buildings ready? Most design standards still rely on historic weather data, leaving buildings unprepared for current and future climate impacts. With insurance premiums rising and assets at risk of devaluation, climate resilience isn’t optional anymore. All buildings will require bespoke physical risk assessments and adaptation strategies within the next three years. Listen to our latest podcast episode to learn more about climate resilience and the role of frameworks like SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures > https://lnkd.in/dB8_wXH8 Session sponsored by Cundall Speakers: Simon Wyatt and Dr Elisabeth Marlow (Cundall), Laura Thrower (Royal London Asset Management ), Bernadette Middleton (Zurich Insurance) #GlobalWarming #ClimateResilience #Sustainability #ESG #GreenBuilding #Podcast #Footprint25

Why refurbishment over new build? 3 Sheldon Square sits in British Land & GIC's Paddington Central campus. It was originally constructed in the early 2000s and vacated in 2022. British Land seized the opportunity to reimagine the space with sustainability at the forefront, and the project was completed in Q1 2024. This session explores the decision to retain and reposition the existing structure, the sustainable success achieved, and how this approach attracted a major anchor letting—competing head-to-head with new builds in the area.
