Aerospace Manufacturing reports that Airbus delivered 766 aircraft to 86 customers worldwide in 2024. The Make UK Executive Survey 2025 has been published today. Here are some of the key headlines: For UK manufacturers, 2025 will be defined by the ability to adapt. With government policies and uncertainty over energy bills increasing pressure on costs, manufacturers are looking for ways to boost productivity and accelerate growth Those feeling optimistic are eyeing the opportunity: almost one-third of manufacturers (29%) are looking to technology, cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) to succeed in 2025, aiming to boost productivity and reduce overheads. With almost half of manufacturers looking to expand their product portfolio in 2025, it’s encouraging to see innovation not being hampered by cost pressures. Investing in products will open new revenue streams for businesses, and when combined with advances in digital technology, there’s an opportunity to reduce production faults and costs, too. Bespoke Rolls Royce anyone? The luxury British manufacturer has announced that it is investing more than £300m in its Goodwood manufacturing facility to create additional space to expand its Bespoke and Coachbuild capabilities. Rolls-Royce said its Bespoke content value increased 10% on average per motor car year-on-year in 2024, reaching the highest level in the company’s history. Make UK has issued its Manufacturing Outlook Q4 2024 report and its fair to say confidence among many manufacturers has taken a dip in recent months, mainly in response to rising costs.
