Education Administration Programs

Our vision is a world where a young person’s start in life does not limit their future.

About us

Future First’s believes that alumni can be inspirational role models and help schools do even more for their students. That is why we help state schools and colleges to build alumni communities. Former students can have a transformative effect on young people's confidence, motivation and skills. For generations, private schools and universities have seen the value in keeping former students engaged after they graduate. These alumni have an affinity to the young people who study in the years after them and are a part of the same community. With the lowest levels of social mobility in the OECD, young people across the UK are having their potential limited. In-school volunteers, financing school trips, e-mentoring programmes and relatable role models can all help equip young people with the support, aspiration and information they need to succeed.

“There’s a well-established link between economies with greater social mobility and higher productivity, and the same is true for businesses.” 💬 That’s just one reason why employers need to act on social mobility from our CEO Sarah Atkinson’s piece in Personnel Today. Here are three more: 1. Removing barriers to entry brings benefits including a wider talent pool, greater diversity of thought and improved customer understanding. 2. Collecting workforce socioeconomic data is fast becoming the norm, with 72% of entrants to the Social Mobility Employer Index collecting three or four data points for current employees. 3. The government plans to enact the socioeconomic duty in the Equality Act, meaning public bodies must address inequalities that result from socioeconomic status. This could give a competitive advantage to organisations that are acting to address socioeconomic barriers when bidding for government contracts. Wherever you are on your social mobility journey, the Index will propel you forward with tailored, practical insights and support. Register for more info here: https://lnkd.in/eDNunVQZ
