International Day of Women and Girls in Science 👩🔬: Celebrating Ada Lovelace, the First Computer Programmer. Before Google, before coding boot camps, before computers even existed, there was Ada Lovelace.  Born in 1815, Ada Lovelace was a mathematician and visionary who wrote the first ever algorithm, making her the world’s first computer programmer. She worked with Charles Babbage on his Analytical Engine, a mechanical computer that was never built, but her notes described concepts that wouldn’t become reality until over 100 years later. Despite her genius, history almost forgot her. It wasn’t until the 20th century that her contributions were truly recognised. On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science, let’s celebrate her legacy and the countless women in STEM who are shaping the world today. #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience #AdaLovelace #FutureOfTech #STEM #womeninSTEM

  • Recruitment timelines can vary widely, but some corporations take weeks or even months to finalise a hire! ⌛ The FBI holds the record for the lengthiest interview process among major U.S. employers, averaging 39.27 days from the first interview to the start date.  In contrast, companies like McDonald's have streamlined their hiring, with an average process lasting just 5.32 days.  These variations highlight how organizational needs and roles influence the duration of hiring processes. #RecruitmentInsights #HiringProcess #TalentAcquisition

Time to Talk Day: What Are We Not Talking About? Today is Time to Talk Day, but let’s be real, talking about mental health isn’t always easy. We throw around phrases like "check in on your friends" or "mental health matters," but how often do we stop and think: What conversations are we avoiding? What’s stopping us from having real, honest talks? So here’s the challenge for today: Instead of sharing another generic post, let’s dig deeper. Ask yourself: What’s a mental health myth I believed until I learned better? What’s one thing I wish I could tell my younger self about emotional well-being? How can I create a space where people feel comfortable starting a conversation? We don’t need polished answers or grand gestures, just a willingness to show up, ask questions, and listen. Because mental health is more than a hashtag. 💬 What’s the one mental health topic you think needs more attention? Drop your thoughts below #TimeToTalkDay #MentalHealthAwareness #StartTheConversation

  • QS: When was the first ever job advert placed? ANSWER: In the late 1840s!!!!!!!!! The first job ads appeared in newspapers in 1840, marking the beginning of recruitment. These early ads were simple, text-only notices, but they laid the groundwork for the multimedia job postings we see today.   From 19th-century print to 21st-century digital platforms, job ads have continually evolved to meet the workforce's needs. From the first advert in a newspaper to the AI driven job adverts today, it's fascinating how far we've come!

Last Thursday Leslie Owusu surprised the company at lunchtime and asked us to shut down for the day to thank everyone for their hard work! We made our way to Canary Warf for an afternoon at Fairgame, followed by some amazing food at the Market Halls. We had such a great time we neglected to take photos! Our teams competitive spirit was alive and well and the laughs flowed even more freely than the drinks..
