Today I tried to write a post about how I'm not a natural salesperson... but failed to find the words to articulate the point (which, ironically, may prove the point better than anything I could have written 😂). In my defence, I was pretty busy at The Say Gap conference, trying to learn how to use storytelling to convey a lasting and powerful message. A few takeaways from the brilliant sessions by Sarah Lloyd Hughes of Ginger Leadership Communications: 1️⃣ start by working out where you want the story to take you 2️⃣ then identify the starting point 3️⃣ explain the obstacles between the 2 points 4️⃣ use interesting and descriptive language. You may have to bear with me over the coming weeks as I try to put my fledgling storytelling skills into practice... watch this space. Many thanks also to Caroline Hill, Dana Denis-Smith, Claire Sanders and Bríana McCrory for a panel session that was as inspiring as it was insightful. What are your most powerful sales techniques?
