Our Gingers Amy Lawrence and Lauren Jones attended yesterday’s Parliamentary Debate with IAA UK and CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing 📣 No matter the outcome, marketers for and against the motion "Marketers’ Fears of Being Accused of Greenwashing Hinders Environmental Progress” shared some fantastic insights and food for thought at the House of Commons last night. The historical setting brought home the importance these conversations hold in determining not just the future of marketing, but the future of our planet. Congratulations The Debating Group, IAA UK and CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing for another great debate with excellent speakers. Looking forward to the next! GingerMay and Sphere Digital Recruitment Group brought together some of the brightest minds in advertising and retail, offering valuable insights into the explosive growth of CTV and retail media in 2024—and what lies ahead in 2025. Here are the top takeaways from ‘Connected Screens and Commerce: Retail Media & CTV into 2025’: 1️⃣ Darren Jacobs, Sales Director, EMEA at Zitcha, emphasised the challenges of fragmentation within retail media, spanning in-store, online, and offsite components. He explained that bridging these gaps offers a significant opportunity to streamline processes, unify KPIs, and enable more cohesive and impactful campaigns. 2️⃣ Lisa Kalyuzhny, RVP, Advertiser Solutions, EMEA at PubMatic, highlighted how retail media networks are driving cross-channel innovation, integrating onsite, offsite, and CTV touchpoints. Tools like AI and interactive QR codes are creating more engaging ad experiences, while scalable first-party data ecosystems are essential for growth. She also noted that fostering strong personal relationships with consumers remains crucial in the programmatic ecosystem. 3️⃣ Sarah Lawson Johnston, Managing Director, EMEA at Vudoo, emphasised that retail media will soon be ubiquitous, with adoption extending to smaller businesses. She underscored the role of omnichannel technologies in delivering seamless consumer experiences and highlighted how innovation in measurement technologies will help brands deliver more accurate campaigns. #CTV #retailmedia #advertisingtrends #adtech #media

The sun may feel as though it’s disappeared for the rest of the year, but it’s still important to protect your skin. Skin cancer is the most common cancer globally and while melanoma is less common, it accounts for most skin cancer-related deaths. Fortunately, with the right awareness and preventive measures, this risk can be significantly reduced. Huge thank you to Michelle Baker☀️, CEO of Melanoma Fund, for hosting a great sunguarding workshop with our Ginger’s last month, sharing practical, easy-to-implement strategies to protect your skin both now and in the future.
🌞 Sunguarding with GingerMay! 🌞 Thank you Team GingerMay for hosting the Melanoma Fund's virtual Sunguarding presentation last week, where I spoke to 28 of their brilliant staff members. We delved into sun protection essentials—busting common myths, offering practical solutions, and raising awareness about melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). With skin cancer now the UK’s most common cancer, knowledge and early detection are key to saving lives. As a Certified B Corporation, GingerMay is leading the way in environmental and social responsibility, and now they’ve added 'Sunguarding' to their health and well-being initiatives.🌱 We aim to promote sun safety in every workplace, benefiting staff who enjoy the great outdoors. Together, we can #Sunguard for a healthier tomorrow. 🛡️ Victoria Usher #MelanomaFund #SunguardingOutdoors #SkinCancerAwareness #SunProtection #GingerMay #BCorp #Sustainability #WorkplaceWellness

Mental health in the workplace is more important than ever. It’s no longer just a side conversation; with well-being built into recruitment, company policies, and business goals, focussing on support for employees has never been stronger. But balancing support with productivity is key – and that’s where workplace resilience comes in. Resilience helps employees face challenges, acknowledge the impact, and bounce back stronger. This benefits both personal growth and business success. Curious about how to foster resilience in your team? Check out our latest blog post from Senior Account Director and MHFA team member Nadine Sanders, where she shares the importance of: ➡️ Building a supportive workplace culture ➡️ Offering effective mental health resources and practical stress-management tips ➡️ Creating open feedback channels https://lnkd.in/eEd3F256

MadTechMoney 2024 was a blast ... The sessions offered valuable insights into the world of ad tech, investments, and retail media. Here are our three key takeaways: 1️⃣ Rémi Lemonnier from Scibids - acquired by DoubleVerify , Ionut Ciobotaru from PubNative (Now Verve), and Daniel Pirchio from Onetag discussed groundbreaking strategies for scaling and selling ad tech businesses in a panel discussion moderated by Tal Hewitt from EY-Parthenon. They underlined the importance of strategy alignment throughout the company from the get go, scaling—and failing—faster, and hiring directors across different regions early on. 2️⃣ Lara O'Reilly from Business Insider moderated a panel discussion with Rich Ashton, Kevin Flood, and Ciarán O'Kane from FirstPartyCapital, exploring the landscape of ad tech investments in Europe. Kevin highlighted that “It’s harder to scale in Europe, but if you’re able to do it, you become very valuable for acquirers in the US”—urging founders to utilise “the scale of collective intelligence” in this venture. 3️⃣ A panel moderated by Rachel Smith from ExchangeWire spoke to Paul Wright 🌻 from Uber Advertising, Martin Jensen from Nexta, and James Avery from Kevel to dive deep into retail media, underscoring the remarkable growth in the sector. James emphasised that “More money comes into the ecosystem as retail media networks improve. And increasingly, it’s an existential threat to retailers if they don’t invest in retail media networks.” #MadTechMoney2024 #AdTech #MarTech #RetailMedia #Investments
