As the year comes to a close, we're reflecting on what we've achieved in 2024 with the support of communities, schools, academics, funders, partners and everyone who has worked with us to take action on the systems that harm us and our planet. It's been a joy to start working with Global Action Plan this autumn. A really lovely team who are interested in properly thinking about why they do what they do - which is ideal for evaluators! In their first few weeks of their Good Life Schools national programme they've already attracted the eye of what was explained to me as 'The Welsh version of Newsround' - here it is, complete with a link to the translation on their website. While I don't speak Welsh, I know many of my colleagues past and present do. In what's been a tricky year, I'm genuinely enjoying the thoughtfulness and optimism of this lot!

If you’re not familiar with Global Action Plan, it’s 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁. During my time as Chair, I’ve seen GAP grow and make a real difference. Shifting its focus from changing individual behaviours to addressing the major system changes we need for a safer climate – from our toxic online ecosystem to our education, energy, and transport systems. I’m proud to have been part of GAP’s 30th anniversary and to have supported its transition from founder-led to established charity. A senior UN official recently called it the “best organized NGO” they’d ever worked with. This is 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.
