Yesterday there was a substantial gas leak in our home-town, Chippenham. 🏠 A gas pipe was damaged at a building site, with emergency services and engineers quickly dispatched to mend it, and local residents were warned to keep their doors and windows closed to protect themselves. This is an important reminder about the risks to health, safety and the environment that come with gas infrastructure. With heat pumps, homes can be completely gas-free - removing the risk of leaks, reducing carbon and nitrous oxide emissions and improving air quality. As we transition to cleaner energy, moving away from gas-powered heating is a vital step towards a safer, more sustainable future.
