The Planning Application for the Acute Hospital at Overdale has today been approved by the Planning Committee. The Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Tom Binet, said: “The approval of the Planning Application for the Acute Hospital at Overdale marks a major milestone in delivering the modern, high-quality healthcare facilities our Island urgently needs. Securing planning approval brings us one step closer to ensuring construction of the acute facility remains on track to start this year, meeting our Government priority as set out in the Common Strategic Policy.” This is a government priority that will provide the quality and level of health and care required by Islanders and give confidence in healthcare for future generations. Revisions to various aspects of planning guidance have been made as part of Government CSP to reform the Island’s planning service. These changes include: ✅ Removal of the 3,000sq ft floorspace limit, to allow appropriate residential growth ✅ More flexibility for windows in listed buildings to improve energy efficiency while preserving heritage These changes are aimed at creating positive development while ensuring clarity and flexibility in planning policies. Each year over 4,000 customers mistakenly send in receipts, mortgage statements, bank certificates etc. In 2019 the law changed: You just need to keep paperwork safe at home you should not send it to us anymore. We will contact you if we need sight of any supporting document. Sending paperwork with your return slows down your assessment.
