I just got back from a fantastic week at CES! What a great way to start the year. It was inspiring to see the incredible work from George P Johnson Experience Marketing across several of our global offices. I was also able to spend some time with several amazing clients! And I got to kick the year off by connecting live and in-person with a number of my friends and colleagues. So fun! It's been nice seeing some of the trends people have been sharing. It's so interesting to see the experience through different eyes. I thought I'd share some of the things that stuck with me. Looking at the technology through the experience lens, there were some trends that I'm sure will impact some of the experiences we get to bring to life this year. ⭐ The future is clear... Transparent displays reached a new level. Super thin, lightweight, vibrant color…and near glass-like transparency. While not new, they definitely unlocked a new level. ⭐ Flat screens, round stories... Multi-screen storytelling hit a new high. Immersive experiences using screens to create mood, imagery, and layered storytelling. Again, not a new thing, but the number of brands doing it well was impressive. ⭐ Putting the motion in motion picture... Screens were not just a static canvas for dynamic content. The screens moved, adding depth and motion, transforming displays into dynamic, sculptural elements. ⭐ Enough talk, AI means action... The AI narrative shifted. Generative AI wasn’t served up as something that might unlock future potential. There was a big shift toward practical, impactful AI application. Rather than trying to tell stories around what could be, the focus seemed to be more about demonstrating what is. ⭐ Robots, robots everywhere... From autonomous farming to bartending to exoskeletons to lifelong companions, robots were everywhere. The variety of form and function was incredible. And the huge focus on telling normal, everyday stories around these (until very recently) not so normal interactions tells me we’re about to start having and creating way more robot experiences over the next couple of years. Admittedly, it was a packed trip for me. I definitely couldn’t explore as deeply as I’d like. I’m sure I missed a ton.
