What a night! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged with the launch of The Legacy Report at packed out event at Simmons & Simmons in central London last night. This is a pivotal piece of work undertaken by our Real Assets team over 18 months, with more than 170 female real estate leaders. Backed by Real Estate Balance, the report reveals the key reasons women would leave the sector - with a resounding 80% citing lack of flexibility. The report was co-authored by GR's Real Assets Senior Partner Edward Ali M. and Michela Hancock, Managing Director, Greystar Europe, with a conclusion with Real Estate Balance MD Sue Brown. Michela was also part of a fascinating and lively panel discussion alongside Ciaran Bird, CEO UK & Ireland CBRE, Kate Craig Waller, Partner Granger Reis, Kate Curneen, Partner at Simmons & Simmons, and was moderated in style by Green Street News residential and retail editor Jessica Middleton-Pugh. The Legacy Report constitutes hundreds of hours of testimony and written feedback from the 172 women which revealed five key recommendations. ⤴️ Develop better flexible working as an absolute priority 🔝 Promote and recognise female talent in organisations 🙋🏽♂️ Foster male allies and develop role models 🏢 Build better support systems & networks 🫸🏼 Challenge cultural and institutional barriers Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed. We are already looking forward to what comes next. Read the full report and join the conversation here: https://lnkd.in/ecufavzA #genderdiversity #influentialchange #realestate #leadership

“I want to be a world-class player. I want to be a world-class mum - the challenge is, can you be both?” - Abbie Ward As the main sponsors of Bristol Bears Women, it has been fantastic to see co-captain Abbie's journey to be the first contracted England Rugby player to give birth and get back on the international field since the Red Roses went pro in 2019. In this ground-breaking role, Abbie was also the first to benefit from the Rugby Football Union's new maternity policy, which includes 26 weeks of fully-paid maternity leave, after announcing her pregnancy in 2023. This awesome documentary 'Bump in the Road' follows the Red Roses star as she embarked on her journey through pregnancy, begins life as a mother and returns to the pitch after the birth of daughter Hallie. Sue Anstiss MBE, who directed the documentary, said: “I believe this film will transcend the world of sport, resonating with audiences everywhere, especially with women who face the societal challenge of balancing careers with motherhood.” This is influential change in action and we can’t wait to see what Abbie and the team do in the season ahead! #genderequality #genderbalance #womeninsport #influentialchange https://lnkd.in/eiFm3usB

During the interactive session they investigated how executive search has evolved and how important Leadership Assessment is in today's talent market. Craig and Thomas also shared knowledge of the impact of the infrastructure value chain, asset operations, ESG initiatives and global private equity, providing a snapshot of future global talent trends in the real asset sector. ✨ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 – 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 ✨ Black History Month this year has been about reclaiming and amplifying the narratives of Black people and communities – and there are few better ways to experience this than through the power of poetry and art. Earlier in the month, our Advanced Technology team had the privilege of attending an inspiring evening at The Poetry Place in Manchester in support of Black History Month. They were fortunate to witness the artists share thoughts, experiences, reflections and create an evening that was both moving and transformative. As a whole business, we also learned some important lessons to help us activate change and are seeing the month out with some key learnings: 𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮. There is so much work to do, but creativity and curiosity is a wonderful place to support greater understanding, so thank you to the wonderful poets who performed including: Reece Williams; Dija Bhlue; Griot Gabriel; Diary of a Poet.
