We are pleased to announce our continued presence at Kao Data KLON-06 Slough data centre, where the project team are now set, following our official appointment as the Principal Contractor, to deliver Phase 4 under a design and build contract. Our team will be working with Hoare Lea as the M&E design team, studioNWA as the architectural design team and Parmarbrook as the structural design team. Phase 4 follows on from Phases 1, 2 & 3, where our project team has delivered the full M&E design & build, CSA works, commissioning and fit-out of each associated technology suite. Phase 4 will deliver a further 1.5MW data hall with N+1 redundancy. A key focus of Phase 4 will be the package plantroom (PPR) build, delivery and installation. The package plantroom will be fully prefabricated, with all associated equipment preinstalled at our Chelmsford facility, before being split into sections, transported to site and reconnected on-site by our team. This installation will be a milestone for the company, as we continue to expand on our already strong prefabrication credentials. The project team at Kao Data’s KLON-06 Slough data centre has successfully handed over the 4MW phase 2 fit-out! The handover follows the successful Integrated System Testing (IST) of Technology Suite (TS)-05, where data loggers have collected temperature and humidity data over the past two weeks. The project team at KLON-06 is responsible for the full M&E design & build, CSA construction, commissioning and fit-out of TS-05, and handing over the 1210m2 4MW data hall in line with the programme. Supporting the data hall are 18 IEC units that feed the main hall with cooling, alongside four switch rooms utilising colour-coded busbars to identify the power stream. Two generators enable N+1 redundancy, with the generators enclosed on a bespoke external enclosure built by the Gratte Brothers' CSA team. Congratulations to the project team for reaching this milestone and enabling Kao Data to continue providing data centres engineered for AI. Work continues at KLON-06, where Phase 3 works are well underway. #DataCentres #Engineering #BuildingServices

The tranquillity of a complete data hall ready for customer fit-out. Hall 6, alongside another structurally finished hall, has been successfully handed over to Equinix this week. The 1MW hall and associated fallow space form part of our General Contractor work at LD10.4 in Slough, where the full MEP and CSA package will provide an extra 3.34MW to the existing data centre, taking the total load to 17MW. Huge thanks to the teams involved at LD10.4, including Jamie Connolly and the Gratte Brothers project team, all our sub-contractors, consultants Arup and the Equinix team.

No award this time around, but that doesn't stop our team from smiling! Our Prefabrication Managers, John Gray and Ian Laker joined Managing Director Remi Suzan and Marketing Manager James Radović at the #Offsite Expo and Awards earlier this week. Our prefabrication team was shortlisted for the Best Use of #MEP & Pod technology for the outstanding electrical riser build at 21 Moorfields. The fully bespoke design incorporated a whole solution, spanning over 15 floors. Congratulations to SES Engineering Services for winning the Best Use of MEP or Pod Technology Award, and further congratulations to all award winners over the evening. Great event, Radar Communications Ltd.

Is hydrogen the answer for building services? The #construction industry has a huge task in making our practices and products fully sustainable. It's a big question to ask, and an even bigger one to answer, but our Group Sustainability Manager, Alice Kilner, provides a well-rounded insight, taking a non-biased approach to investigate if and how hydrogen as a fuel can be used in the built environment and the world. We'll give you a heads-up - it's not a straightforward answer! Have a read via the link below and let us know your thoughts on hydrogen's place within building services. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gGkDcj7t #BuildingServices #Hydrogen #BuiltEnvironment

Team effort, recognised 🎉 Yesterday, the Gratte Brothers project team hosted a topping out ceremony for everyone involved at LD10.4. Equinix and Arup team members joined all the trade contractors on site in the celebrations, where all site activity was paused for a couple of hours to mark the occasion. 🗣️ Project Manager, Ian Butterfield, and Managing Director, Remi Suzan, shared words of thanks. 🦺 The final section of concrete was filled by Equinix & project team members. 🍰 An extensive selection of food and drink was provided to everyone, including a bespoke cake! 🎫 A raffle prize draw ran for all site members, with prizes and Amazon vouchers up for grabs. 🤝 Everyone who worked on the project was included in the backdrop. The ceremony marked the momentous #milestone of the team completing the complex structural build within a live building. 300 tonnes of #steelwork had to be installed with only the smallest margins for error. Everyone involved has excelled on this project so far - a testament to the level of professionalism shown on a daily basis. #BuildingServices #ToppingOutCeremony

We regularly undertake Customer Satisfaction Surveys (CSSs) to measure our performance and gain direct insight into where we’re doing well, and where we can improve. Each year, we do an annual review of the CSSs gained over the year to analyse patterns and get a bird’s eye view of how we’re doing. To see the numbers for the last year, see the images below… #CustomerSatisfaction #PerformanceReview #BuildingServices
