𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬! #CGA #carribeans Between the 15-17 October the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations: The Green Pledge was present at the 5th Triennal Conference which took place in Trinidad and Tobago. The Co-chair of our CGA Caribbean Committee, Tanya Goddard, FCIArb, along with Ms Salma Rahaman and Mr Miles Weekes discussed the work of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations: The Green Pledge at the event 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦: 𝘌𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 organised by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Caribbean Branch. The panel was well received by the regional attendees, who showed interest and support for the Campaign's work. Hon. Barry Leon (North America Committee - CGA) and Eric Franco FCIArb MSc (CGA Latin America Committee) attended the conference, and they explained to the audience the practical benefits of the Campaign from the perspective of both the arbitrator and the private practice counsel. Sir Dennis Byron ( former President of the Caribbean Court of Justice) also showed interest in the campaign and advocated for the campaign's initiatives and work. He explained how, during his tenure as President of the Caribbean Court of Justice, he utilized a number of eco-friendly initiatives and contributed to the almost 100% digitalization of the Court. This not only made the CCJ environmentally friendly by reducing its carbon footprint but also significantly cut down on administrative costs. At the end of the Triennal, the delegates visited the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. #greenerarbitration #sustaiability #carribeans
